The Mountain House Eggs with Bacon are fully cooked and then freeze dried. Just add boiling water, and you will have a hot, delicious breakfast in about 10 minutes (cold or room temperature water can be used, but it will increase the rehydration/reconstitution time to about 20 minutes). And, because no cooking is needed, this food requires much less water and fuel than most fresh, frozen or dehydrated foods, further conserving these two precious commodities. About Mountain House Cans
Each stainless steel can is coated with a protective enamel (including the lids) for double protection, and at least 98% of the residual oxygen has been removed. All Mountain House #10 cans meet stringent U.S. Military specifications. Year after year, Mountain House Cans are a top choice for emergency preparedness food storage and, due the rising cost of food prices, purchasing food reserves now is a wise investment. Having long term stored food on hand for emergencies will keep you ready for just about any unexpected crisis. Just imagine what a lifesaver these foods can be if you were to lose your electricity for several days! Mountain House Cans are perfect to have on hand for any potential extended emergency or any situation affecting a group of people. We are a stocking distributor for the entire Mountain House brand product line. We receive regular shipments direct from the manufacturer, OFD Foods LLC (formerly Oregon Freeze Dry), located in Albany, Oregon (about 45 minutes north of our warehouse facility).
Storage and Handling
DO NOT OPEN UNTIL READY TO USE. Store Mountain House products properly to ensure maximum shelf life. Optimal storage is in cool, dark areas with low humidity (75°F or lower). Once open, the manufacturer recommends that the contents be used within 1–2 weeks after opening for optimal product quality, flavor, and nutritional value. Any unused contents should be resealed (using the recloseable plastic lid) with the included oxygen absorber. Refrigeration or freezing will extend usability of the product. Note: #10 cans are sold by weight, not volume. Some settling of the contents may occur due to shipping, handling, or variations in the product's density.
